Youth Faith Formation at SJLC

MARCH 17: BAKE AND CRAFT SALE, YOUTH COUNCIL AND KNOX AREA YOUTH GATHERING

Our kiddos will show off some of their talents between services where they will set up a table to ply their wares, and again for a bit after the second service before we head up for Youth Council. It's a great opportunity to explore their gifts and share them with the congregation, which is timely because we're currently "recruiting" for the Evangelism Team!

MARCH 23, 10am-2pm: MALL DAY, YOUTH SOCIAL

We're headed to West Towne for a SJLC Teen takeover. They'll need some lunch money for the food court, but other than that, the rest is up to you and them. If any parents would like to hang out, we'd appreciate the extra eyes and ears.

MARCH 29: GOOD FRIDAY KIDS CAMP

An adult and youth led day camp celebrating Good Friday with an assortment of activities for kinder through elementary aged kiddos. We'll have crafts, games, lunch, complete a service project, and enjoy a kid-friendly Good Friday Worship service.

APRIL 5-7: SPRING YOUTH GROUP RETREAT

Next quarter, we're planning a weekend retreat to help students connect with God and their fellow youth group members. And have FUN! Get the details and register your kiddo(s) by emailing Sara at sara@sjlcknox.org

JUSTIFIED: A 4-Week Series from the New Testament on Anger.

SERIES OVERVIEW: Anger is such a big, powerful emotion. When we're angry about things that matter, our anger can lead us toward action. Anger can even inspire us to make the world a better place! But other times, our anger can lead us to make choices that are harmful to ourselves or others. There's no escaping situations or people who make us angry, but how we respond when we're angry is up to us. So if we can’t completely avoid getting angry, what can we do? In this four-week series, we’ll explore four passages of Scripture from both the Old and New Testaments that might challenge our view on anger. We’ll learn practical skills like when we feel angry, pause to ask God why. We’ll see how, when we’re angry, Jesus shows us how to respond. And in our anger, we'll be challenged to show grace and not get hurtful.
